Primary Purpose:
Assist the physical education teacher with student management, instructional activities, and perform general office duties.

 

Qualifications:

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Work under the direction of certified physical education teacher in the implementation of lesson plans and instructional developed by PE Teacher.
  2. Responsible for the implementation of lesson plans and instructions to classes of students assigned by PE teacher.
  3. Responsible for setting up and taking down PE equipment needed for classes on a daily basis.
  4. Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, as directed by the PE teacher.
  5. Keep teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
  6. Assist with discipline of students in accordance with district/campus regulations and policy.
  7. Assist with the inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
  8. Assist the teacher in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
  9. Provide orientation and assistance to PE substitute teacher.
  10. Participate in training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as needed.
  11. Assist P.E. Teacher with various administrative tasks which include keyboarding, filing, grading, and recording tests.
  12. Keep bulletin boards updated.
  13. Assist with updating grade books, recording roll, recording scores, and discipline marks.
  14. Supervise students when assigned.

Equipment Used:

Various athletic equipment, personal computer, copier, fax machine, and phone.

 

Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Position requires frequent walking, running, jumping standing, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching keyboarding, overhead lifting and lifting. Moderate physical exercise throughout the day. Position requires the ability to lift 25 pounds to waist high.
